Want XP and your ordering from Dell Order under the small business line Vostra. Tell them you want to downgrade to XP. If they dont seem to know what your talking about hangup and call back. They will even ship you a Vista upgrade if you later want to go with Vista. Vostra will also not come with a bunch of garbage loaded on the drive just what you need. This is a cost item. |
Enjoy those free screensavers? You better because you most likely just download some spyware along with them. Talk about "strings attached" Check out our programs page for a free way to clean up the spyware. This is a serious problem dont overlook it. |

Firewall. Don't know what this is? On an always on connection? You better find out. XP SP2 has an improved version all you have to do is run it. You may be unwillingly sending out spam to your friends and sending where you surf to several people. XP version still leaves you hanging but there are better free answers more on this later. Not running a virus program? Hope you enjoy your lottery winnings because the odds are againest you and climbing. I would not run a personal or business computer that did not have a virus program running. Below is a list of great commercial programs and one free program. I am currently running the AVG free program. For a great freebe check out AVG. But PLEASE run something. Windows even has their own free version out now and it runs quite well in the background. It called Microsoft security essentials and is a free download. NEVER run 2 virus programs on your computer at the same time, terrible things can happen. Be sure your computer is not running one before you install another one.

Windows Error Messages. What did that say???? Ever have a windows error come up you do not know how to handle? Go to www.google.com and type the error in and in most cases you will find an answer to your problem. I use this solution a lot but keep in mind you need to know where the answer comes from. This means anyone can take a guess at the problem. |
Turn off Security Prompt (Tired of seeing this pop up on your screen) 1. Select tools then click on internet options 2. Select the security tab 3. Select the internet globe icon then click on custom level 4. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous section 5. Under Display mixed content change the selection from prompt to enable Note: This may also turn off the security information box at other sites also. |

Passwords Be real careful letting one person in the office setup passwords. If you have to let that person go from your business or even worse if that person where to die or leave, your computer and all programs are locked up for good. You might be able to work around windows password but good luck getting into each and every program. If you have to use passwords be sure you know what they are and test them once a week to be sure you can get in. Trust me this has happened and there is no way around it. All data is lost. Also another password issue we have seen is people thinking they have typed in one password but having something on their mind and typing in the wrong password. Now they have no idea what the password is. |
