 Textmaker 2006 | Tired of paying big bucks for Microsoft Word & Excel and having to activate it? Need a free and simple replacement for Word & Excel? This one is fairly small and has a look alike structure to Word. Really nice to use. Give it a try. You can register it for free also. We are using this in our office now instead of Word. Much easier to use and install than open office suite. Has a built-in spell checker that will run as you type or in the background. You can set your preferences to save documents in word format. Default is Textmaker format. We do not use Excel much so cannot say how similiar this product is but it looks just like it. We use Textmaker every day in our office and love it. If you really like it you can buy the 2008 version with even more features. |

| Tired of windows leaving garbage around when you try to uninstall a program? This little free program does the uninstall then looks around for parts of the program that are left. Very powerful and easy to use. So far I have had no problems with the files it removes, but have been amazed how much is left behind by windows. Slightly harder to use than windows uninstaller but a lot better on cleaning up files. 5 star rating by CNET. We use it at work and home. It also has some additional tools. |

Microsoft security essentials AVG AVAST | Microsoft security essentials is now out and its free. So far has gotten some good press. First 3 will cost you but Microsoft security essentials ,AVG and AVAST have a free program you can run. Just please run something. You sure will wish you had one day. We are running the Microsoft security essentials and AVAST free and really like them. Both have very little overhead and do not appear to slow us down any. And we do like FREE. Never have 2 anti-virus programs running on your computer. Be sure your computer does not have one running before installing another one. Be aware that new computers sometimes come with trial anti-virus programs on them. Best bet is to remove them if you do not intend on using them. |
